3 As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubitsand then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4 He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5 He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross.
The river that is mentioned above could be seen as the trial that we are endeavoring. The man began walking into the water until it reached his ankles, the trials had begun and his faith remained strong as he kept on walking. He then kept walking until the water reached his knees, trials begin to get tougher, temptation kicks in, maybe he doesn’t hear God’s voice, doesn’t feel his presence. He walked in more as the water rose to his waist. Although he may keep getting deeper and deeper into the river, his faith must remain strong in order to keep going, in order to see glory, to see God’s perfected plan in his life. He walked even more to the point that he could not get across the river, what if he drowns? What if it just so happened that he gave up and let the trials get to him? Everything he has worked for to grow in his spiritual relationship with God and it all goes down the drain?
Does this sound like something that you can relate to? Well today god tells us that even though we feel like we are drowning in a river of trials, somehow feeling as if we have been forgotten, screaming out for help mercy and forgiveness and it seizes to be found. God tells you today I am here he has not forgotten. He sees what you are going through and he will intercede at his given moment. Maybe things are not going the way that you are expecting them to go Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” TRUST IN THE LORD! He has not forsaken you because you are his dearest and most precious creation. Strengthen and comfort yourself in the Lord knowing that he is the one writing our story with mercy’s pen.
On my spiritual Journey I have had to learn and cope with this. It is not easy to figure out something that may change your entire life having plans and determined to go along with those plans and then figuring out that it won’t be possible. I have had to learn that I have to step away from the situation, look at it from a perspective that God knows what he is doing and why he is allowing certain things to happen. I’ve had to humble myself before the Lord and tell him that he is the one that is leading my life, his plans are the ones that are going to prevail because I am nothing without him.
